1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 3 V8 6.3L Automatic

Registration CLOUD 9

Considered by some to be the final and ultimate development of the traditional and formal Rolls-Royce car, the Silver Cloud III succeeded the Series I and II cars in 1962.  The V8 engine developed around 200bhp at 4,500rpm, although in true Rolls-Royce tradition the factory refused to confirm these figures, assuring potential customers that there was “adequate” power beneath the impressively long bonnet. The Silver Cloud III had twin headlamps and a lower bonnet line.

Australian import NSW 1963.  Concour winner NSW.  Purchased by Paul Terry for Extravaganza Showrooms, Albany.  Bought at Southeby’s auction in 1993

Fastidiously maintained since by Chellingworth, Best of British etc.  Four new coil springs and suspension rebuilt and upgraded.  Ducted air-conditioning ( 8 hung from under the dash). Beautiful car.  Two tone silver over gun metal.  Extensive receipts.  Drives beautifully.  Paint work refinished, good chrome, original woodwork and interior with original lamb’s wool fully tailored floor mats.
